Hockey World Cup and Hockey Tickets

The Hockey World Cup is an international field hockey contest organized by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The first event Hockey World Cup was held in 1971 after that it is held every four years and first Women's Hockey World Cup was started in 1974 which was organized by the International Federation of Women's Hockey Associations (IFWHA) until 1981 when the governing bodies merged into the current International Hockey Federation in 1982.

 

Five countries have conquered the Hockey World Cup  history. Pakistan is the most successful team, having succeed the competition four times. The Netherlands having succeed  three tournaments and Germany and Australia have each succeed two tournaments. India succeed the tournament once and coming Hockey World Cup  well be held from from June 2–14, 2014 in The Hague, Netherlands.

The Hockey World Cup was first considered by pakistan’s Air Marshal Nur Khan. He wished-for his idea to the FIH under the name of Patrick Rawley, the first editor of World Hockey magazine. Their idea was approved on October 26, 1969, and adopted by the FIH Council at a conference in Brussels on April 12, 1970. The FIH decided that the first World Cup would be apprehended in October 1971, in Pakistan.

The Hockey World Cup trophy was formed by the Pakistani Army in Brussels On March 27, 1971 which was was proposed by the Bashir Moojid. The trophy consists of a silver cup with an intricate floral design, surmounted by a globe of the world in silver and gold, placed on a high blade base inlaid with ivory. The first three Hockey World Cups  were apprehended every two years. The 1978 Hockey World Cup was the only competition held three years from the preceding competition. Since 1982, the contest has been held every four years, halfway between the Summer Olympics field hockey contest. The 2010 Hockey World Cup was held in India from February 28 to March 13 at New Delhi's Dhyan Chand National Stadium

Hockey competition was incorporated in Olympic Games in 1908. Only men participated this to contest and first women's  Olympic hockey competition was apprehended in 1980,Moscow. Now Olympic hockey matches will be apprehended in London  Olympic games 2012. The hockey competitions will be started from Sunday 29 July to Saturday 11 august at hockey center, Olympic park.
